Obituary

Dr. Ronald Eugene Williams, Sr., was born on August 25, 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the sone of Delois Cherry and the late Cecil Williams. On October 31, 2011, he departed this life and entered into the joy of the Lord.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Union Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later served at Higher Dimensions, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and most recently at Redeemed by Grace, Tulsa, Oklahoma where he faithfully served until his health failed.

He attended Carver Junior High School, Tulsa Ok, until the 7th grade, when he relocated to Los Angeles, California, and attended George Washington High Schoo, where he graduated in 1968.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 19, 1968, and served his country in the South Pacific. he was honorably discharged from the armed services on June 15, 1972, and enrolled at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where he recieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public health. He then enrolled at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Glendale, California, where he was awarded the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1981.

He was a licensed Chiropractor in the States of California, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, and was the first African-American Chiropractor in the State of Oklahoma. He practiced at Gilcrease Chiropractic Clinic in Tulsa, OK, form 1991 to 2003, when his health failed and he was forced to discontinue practice.

He was married to Sandra Barnes Williams on August 14, 1982, and was blessed with three children. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted Sandra, their two sons, Dr. Gerald C. Barnes (Stacy), Irving, Texas, and Ronald E. Williams, II, Tulsa Oklahoma; their daughter, Jazmin J. Williams,Tulsa OK; and their seven grandchildren, Jonavan Robertson; Leona Williams; Collel and Caleb Jones; Deoni and Emmoni Williams; and Mya Barnes.

He is also survived by a loving mother and father, Delios (Cherry) and Martin George, Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Brenda Ferguson, Tulsa, OK; Dana Gabehart, and Marquerite George, Los Angeles, CA; Maiisha Barnett and Tonisha Ford, Inglewood, CA; Anita Curry, Oakland, CA; brothers, Kenneth (Peetie) Moore, California City, CA, Ferell Smith, Los Angeles, CA; three aunts, Thelma Cherry; Johnnie Reed; Noralne Sumbry, all of Tulsa, OK; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
