Obituary

On January 6, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, God blessed the late James H. Davis, Sr. and Lorene Mahone with a baby boy who was affectionately named after his father James Harold Davis, Jr., close friends and family would simply call him “Harold”, Hollywood or simply “JD”.

James attended Tulsa Public Schools graduating in the Class of 1973.

JD loved the Lord with all his heart. He accepted Christ in his life at an early age, first attending Metropolitan Baptist Church under the direction of the Late Rev. C.L. West. He later attended Victory Christian Center until his health started to decline.

James had a passion for food. He was employed for over 20 years as a Chef, he later retired from Reasor’s Food store as a butcher. As a volunteer, he worked with the Tulsa Dream Center where he could help people in need with love of God. JD continued to volunteer until his health would no longer permit.

He is preceded in death by his father, James H. Davis, Sr.; mother, Lorene Mahone — Williams; stepfather, George L. Williams, Sr.; two brothers, Kenneth Mahone-Sanders and Byron Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory his stepmother, Shirley Davis; four sons, Mario (Meka), Demond, Cameron and Markell; five sisters, Cheryl, Sonja, Tammy (Larry) Kim and Geri; five brothers, George Jr., Terrence, Gerald, Phil and Rob and a host of aunts, uncles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His services will be Saturday 10:00am November 24, 2018 Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church 1046 East Pine Place Tulsa, Oklahoma 74106.

Burial will follow in Rolling Oaks Memorial Gardens with Visitation on Friday 3:00pm til 8:00pm Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Memorial Chapel 2103 East 3rd St. Tulsa, Oklahoma 74106.
