Obituary

On April 15, 1954 in Tullahassee, Oklahoma a beautiful baby girl was born to L.V. and Rosetta Henry. They loveling decided to name their 7th child, Angelena Morgan-Henry but nicknamed her “Teen” or “Ting” while growing up in Tullahassee. Angelena gave her life to Christ at an early age at United Temple Holiness Church in Tullahassee, OK under the pastorialship of Rev. James Singelton Sr. and in 1972 she attended, and graduated from the historic Carter G. Woodson High School. Throughout her life, Angelena continued to serve the Lord using the gift that God had given her; her passion for singing. She was a member of the gospel group, “The Henry Sisters” which consisted of her and her five sisters (Rena, Mamie, Onetta, Zetta & Hester) and they ministered in several churches around Oklahoma. Angelena was also a member of, “The Essence of Joy” group along with two friends. Singing brought Angelena so much joy as she sung with many groups using her signature high pitch soprano voice. Angelena was blessed with many gifts and talents; the gift of sewing unique cloths for herslef and others, open and private interior decorating, and she created exquisite arrangements for weddings, businesses, homes and etc. Angelena enjoyed being a mother and raising her three beautiful children (Aliqua, Daryl & Eltonio) and then she met and fell in love with her husband, Sam Morgan Jr. and they were married on June 12, 1998.. Angelena joined the workforce early and provided her services at many businesses around Tulsa. She was employed as a clerk at the Oklahoma Eagle, and a customer service representative at Seismograph and Avis for over 15 years. When she became unable to work, she stayed at home with her family creating arrangements. Angelena was a woman of grandeur and loved to dress classy in every way, she had a unique way of styling her hair and loved to wear hats that accentuated her personality. She attended church regularly at Agape Outreach Ministries under the Apostle Layla Caldwell and really enjoyed spending time, and having fun with her family and friends at family gatherings. She absolutely loved to travel, traveling the world and whenever she could travel she would just get up and go. When Angelena began her battle with her cancer she never stopped believing in God and His mercy. She was a strong woman who endured much but her soul became weary and her spirit longed to be home with the Lord. She told her daughter that she had to run to get to God and she ran on until she was ready. She went in to the House of the Lord on August 18, 2019 with her daughter, nieces and nephews and gave a glorious praise to God along with her church family. Angelena was surrounded by her loved ones as she transitioned on to glory and when she was welcomed into the Kingdom on August 25, 2019 the angels sung a mighty praise as God whispered in her ear, “Well done, daughter.” She is preceded in death by her parents, L.V and Rosetta Henry, six brothers (Kenneth, Raymond, L.V. Jr., Cecil, Willie & Amos Henry) one beloved sister (Rena Mae Corbitt-Henry) one nephew (Wayne Henry) and one niece (LaQuinta Clayton). Angelena leaves her three children to cherish her many memories, Aliqua & Daryl Williams and Eltonio Henry. Grandchildren; Mantrell Williams, Sir Christopher, Devion Williams, Queen Henry, Khaleah (Binkie) Williams, Princeton Eltonio Henry, Ja’Mya Williams and one special great-grandchild, Bishop Williams. The strongest bond in the world is the bond bewteen siblings and Angelena will remain forever bonded with her four sisters (Mamie, Onetta, Zetta Rose & Hester) and two brothers (Mervyn & Joel). Special friends; Apostle Layla Caldwell, Colleen Faulk & Evelyn Howard, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and church family who loved Angelena and will miss her dearly.
