Obituary

Steven Harrison Shaver was born to William H. Shaver and Erma Jean Kemp-Shaver on November 7, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Steven was the youngest of a big family of ten kids. Educated in the Tulsa Public School system, Steven graduated from East Central High School in the Class of 1979. After completion of high school, he attended Tulsa Welding School and completed the training. Steven became a welder by trade.

God has always been a part of Steven’s life. He accepted Christ at an early age.

Being the youngest of ten children meant that there was always love to give and received. Steven loved his family and his family loved him back. He loved to laugh and always had a joke or a funny story to share. His joys in life were simple but they made him smile. Those joys were his children, rhythm and blues music and barbequing for his family.

Heaven has gained an angel and we rejoice in his life

Steven was preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Erma Shaver; sister, Kim.

Remembering his life and legacy are two sons, Farris Moore and Yumeal Smart of Tulsa; two daughters, Stephanie and Diamond Newton of Tulsa; Five grandchildren, Farris Jr., Tarynn, Marcus, Mariyah and Stephan, all of Tulsa; three brothers, William Barron, Michael Washington of Tulsa and Larry Shaver of Minnesota; five sisters, Willa Dorsey, Sheree Smith, Queen V. Hall, Toni Conley and Tina Hamilton, all of Tulsa; two aunts, Velma Middleton of Nebraska and Vonzel Meadows of California; A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
